How Kangen Machines Work — Electrolysis Explained

Kangen machines use electrolysis to ionise tap water. Water flows over platinum-coated titanium electrode plates. An electrical current splits water molecules, separating the stream into alkaline (drinking) and acidic (cleaning/beauty) water.

The Electrolysis Process

  • Tap water enters and is filtered through a carbon filter
  • Water flows over 4–8 platinum-coated titanium plates
  • Electrical current ionises the water
  • Alkaline stream: pH 8.5–11.5, contains dissolved H₂
  • Acidic stream: pH 2.5–6.0, used for cleaning and beauty
